Integration: The Best Convenience For Online Fax Technology

This item was filled under [ Technology ]

Not to sound too technical, but you’re all probably wondering what the whole ‘integration’ thing means. It’s simple: Integration is the establishment of interlinking between applications to apply technology to the over-quotient of the median flux capacitor of the purpose behind…faxing. Yes, faxing.

Okay, so that wasn’t in layman’s terms, and maybe it was a little over the top. To put it simpler, it’s simply this:

You Can Fax Anything From Anywhere

By ‘anywhere,’ it means from any application that offers integration features, of course.

For instance, thanks to the upgrades of, say, Microsoft Word, for example, you can do a bit of online faxing right on the word processor without having to open up any applications. Nifty, right?

Sure, it doesn’t seem like too big a deal. But think about it:

You’re typing a Word document. You save it. Now let’s say you want to fax it to your professor, teacher, parent, girlfriend, boyfriend or dog (for chewing it up). Piece of cake! Simply go to the fax icon on the Microsoft toolbar, and it instantly pulls up the menu to provide a space for the fax number and the go-to button. Two clicks. ‘Nuff said. This is especially the case for an efficient online faxing app such as Metrofax, which features integration.

Without integration, though, you’ve got to close your Microsoft Word, open up your faxing service app — whatever it may be (obviously not MetroFax) — click on the ‘send fax’ button, search for the document you just saved on your computer, attach it, open the program that contains your contacts to find the correct fax number, paste it right into the correct box, and then press the ‘send’ button!

Let’s count the clicks, shall we? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven… and eight. Eight clicks. Check on the paragraph above and count all the steps. There are eight. Versus two.

Convenience Is Everything

In this day and age when production is everything, you can try to argue that it really doesn’t matter the number of clicks you must perform on your computer to send a fax. However, you’ll fail. Eight is a lot more than two. The less clicks we have to make, the better time management. That’s simply a state of fact. The obvious choice? Go with something like MetroFax!

Whether you’re a secretary, lawyer, marketing assistant, lab technician, construction worker, magician, or lumberjack, somehow, some way, for whatever reason, you have to have the convenience of sending a document to the appropriate person without having to walk miles and miles or stamp an envelope.

Integration: a valid and important step to the efficiency of online fax technology.
