You can remove (turn off) the filter from the diagram by selecting Edit | Remove Filter, or simply deselect the filter frm the drop down box.
 

To delete a custom filter from the list of custom filters, open the Filter Browser again (Window | Filter Browser), select the filter you would like to remove, and either go to Edit | Remove , click the Delete icon, or right mouse click the filter to be removed and select Delete.

Note: The filter “Public Only” is hidden behind the Edit menu.
