In addition to notes, you can add lines on a diagram.  The default is a solid black line, with no arrows.  You can change the line’s width, patterns, and/or arrowheads, as well as color.
 


You can also add labels to the link. Select View | Labels when you right mouse click on a line, then specify labels for the head, middle, and tail of the line in the dialog below.
 


This is an example of what a line will look like with labels.  Arrowheads were added to make it easier to see.
